What we do

Equipment

The equipment we work on

An air conditioning unit set into the wall beneath a window.

PTAC units.

Packaged terminal air conditioners: self-contained units set into an outside wall, often under a window. They cool a room, and many models heat it too.

Through-the-wall units and wall sleeves.

Air conditioners installed through an outside wall. Each one sits in a wall sleeve, the case built into the wall that holds the unit.

Water-source heat pumps.

Units that heat and cool rooms using water circulated through the building.

We sell Ice Air and Islandaire PTACs, and Habitat and Honeywell thermostats.

So you know before you call: we do not work on central air, ductwork or boilers. We also do not work on ductless mini-splits: indoor units, usually high on a wall, connected to an outdoor unit.

Habitat Technologies

Habitat makes a wireless smart thermostat for units such as PTACs and water-source heat pumps. We sell Habitat thermostats and use them a lot. Habitat’s HomeLink Wi-Fi module, an add-on, lets you control the thermostat from your phone. It also adds voice control through Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.

No new wiring through walls.

The thermostat talks wirelessly to a small module at the unit. It can also run on batteries, so nothing has to be wired through finished walls.

Built-in leak shutoff.

If the built-in sensor detects water at the unit, the thermostat shows a warning and sounds an alarm. The unit then shuts off and stays off until the leak is cleared.

One room, one thermostat.

One thermostat can control multiple units within the same room.
